Recommend using the same hardware manufacturer for the hub and network cards. The system will be faster with 100mb. Performance would increase with a "switch" instead of a hub. Cabling is very critical for the amount files being constantly opened and closed. Printing Okidata 320 dot matrix printers or any quality dot matrix HP Laser & compatibles (no Windows only
printer for faster printing) HP Jetdirect Multi-port/Single-port Print Server or compatible Okidata 320 are "work" tough. They are fast, simple, and are easy to load. HPs are just a good standard for general printing.
If you have any machine using NT4.0 / Windows2000, you can bypass the HP Jetdirect hardware print server and instead share and map all printers through an NT4.0 / Windows2000 workstation or server. Other Software PcAnywhere for remote access, PcAnywhere Host on workstations for dial up support. Windows2000 Terminal Services or NT Terminal Server 4.0 for multiple access via DSL / Cable.
